Nice, training on Smart Grids for CCIs advisors in charge of Local Energy Communities
The STEEEP project envisages the establishment of Local Energy Communities (LECs) of SMEs in 8 countries. The core activity is to implement a collective action in the field of energy efficiency within a group of SMEs, including intercompany smart grids. With a view of improving and sharing Chambers’ knowledge in the field of smart grids, Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCIs) advisors in charge met in CCI Nice Côte d’Azur, France – a European groundbreaking city in this topic.
During the 2-days training organized by CCI Marseille on 18-19th May, participating advisors explored the panorama of smart grids: the relevant stakeholders involved, the issues at stake, and the relevant key success factors, focusing also on micro-grids specificities and on how to manage energy demand from SMEs. Trainers gave an overview of the smart grids projects in France (Grid4EU, Microgrids, the French Riviera smart grids ecosystem, GridTeams smart grid project) and provided valuable methodological advice for STEEEP CCI advisors to carry out their action nationally.
Two site visits have been organized to observe the implementation of smart grids: the first to the NICEGRID project showroom, a pilot project to deploy a smart solar district of significant size and scope, and the second to the smart city showroom of the Institut Méditerranéen du Risque, de l’Environnement et du Développement Durable.
The training have been a precious opportunity to define the scope of the LECs experimental pilot, as well as next steps in the implementation of activities.
